Martin heads Aprilia domination in Assen qualifying

Jorge Martin admitted being 'slightly emotional' after claiming his first pole position in over 600 days, and his first for Aprilia. The Italian factory were also celebrating an historic top 4 positions on the grid with Ai Ogura in second followed by Marco Bezzechi and Raul Fernandez.

Best of the rest was the resurgent Pecco Bagnaia beating the fellow Ducati mounted DiGiannantonio and Marc Marquez. The Spaniard admitting this weekend is all about damage limitation, as far as the championship is concerned.

Fabio Quartraro put in an heroic lap in Qualifying 1 to post the 2nd fastest time of the weekend.

Pedro Acosta, in 8th place will be hoping his KTM team will be able to sort a recurring reliability issue as his bike, once again, cut out at high speed.
