Johann Zarco set to return at Aragon
Following a three month lay off with an horrific knee injury, the popular Frenchman plans to return a race earlier than planned at this weeks Aragon race.
The LCR Honda rider has not raced since his crash at Catalunya in May and will have to undergo a medical examination before the practice sessions on Friday morning.
Zarco posted; "I'm quite satisfied with the progress and healing of my knee, I feel fit enough to get back on my MotoGP bike, and I'm really looking forward to racing again. The training sessions on the Supermoto and CBR bikes have been very helpful in increasing the intensity and getting into long sessions. I've really missed my team, the competition, and the paddock, so I can't wait to be back in Aragon!"
Ironically, if Zarco does race on Sunday, he will have to serve a double long lap penalty for causing the crash which gave him the knee injury.
Cal Crutchlow will still be available to deputise again for Zarco, should he not be fit enough to race in the Sprint and the main GP.
Maverick Vinales remains absent through injury and will be replaced at Tech3 KTM by Pol Espargaro.
